Pinched nerve? sometime they get them from being egg bound but you have ruled that out. Her legs must just be to weak to hold her up right now. Hopefully the vitamins will help.

How long should the niacin take to take effect?
I have been adding it to her water since Tuesday, whilst she is still trying to use her legs, and there is strength in them, (when I pick her up she pushes against my arm with them), she still cannot stand. She is trying, I put her up next to her sister and mate during the day, and yesterday she tried to stand on her own, but fell to one side, and couldn't right herself.....
I have been standing her with support, which she will do for a few seconds, but then just wants to lay down again.
In water, she is using them fine.

I am just wondering also, as there is a clutch of eggs in their shed, if she is also in brood mode, so thinks she is covering eggs? (even though she is no longer in that shed with the eggs!)

I really want to try everything for her, it seems a shame to have to dispatch her, when she is otherwise healthy, eating, drinking, calling to the other two.

It can take up to a week or longer if the problem has been on going for a while. Don't give up on her if she is doing fine other wise eating and drinking and calling for her flock of 2.

Your using plain niacin not time released or flush free right? You could try a B Complex also crush and add to her drinking water. I'd pull out all stops to see what gets her walking again.

I don't think she would still think she is covering eggs, she maybe still feeling some broodiness but when my goose is broody and I pick her up off the nest it take her a few minutes to realize she isn't on her eggs any more but then she is up and walking. How long was she on the eggs before you noticed she was having a problem standing and walking? And was she eating during that time/ she maybe just so weak it's going to take her time to get her legs back under her. Pool time will help strengthen those legs too.

I am pleased to report that she is now doing a lot better, to the point that she is back in with the other two.
She is limping a little and kicking her leg out a bit, but with a bit more exercise and muscle building, (she has spent 2 weeks laying down) I think that she will be fine. Her first steps were thursday, very wobbly with wings out to steady herself, but over the last couple of days, she has improved, and is moving faster and further!
