Problem with loner hen getting beat up after being attacked by something??

The techno God willing , I will post a pic tomorrow but think already on the way to healing.

Once again I would like to say thanks to all that made such rapid responses, your insight and help will always be remembered. Hopefully I wont have to ask for much more help, we have had tremendously good luck with our collective birds so far. 8 mature hens, 5 young speckled Wyndots, A bandy rooster (Cogburn) and a dozen ducks.
It is with regrets though that I pass along the information that our injured hen escaped during the day only to be mauled again by her coop-mates while I was away to a Dr. appointment, this time to a point that I felt the best thing was to send her home. It is always with deep regrets when this situation arises and after many years working on a Cow/calf outfit you might think I would be a little more used to life and death aspect of ranching, But it still takes a little piece of my heart every time I have to dispatch a injured animal. RIP Red 4 You were a good bird and you will be missed. Thehangman59 and family.

So true, and sad- We all end up loving our birds like family, and the untimely passing is always a heart break. I have learned some things from this, and hope that it will benefit future creatures in my care. I feel lucky that I haven't had some of the misfortune that some have had on this forum, and also hope the best for all the people that have endured the same feelings. BTW the new girls are doing great and our 4 ducklings are cute as a bug. Life in general for our flock are as good as it gets, and we like it that way. Not to be repetitious, but Thank you and all for the help.
Thehangman,
