He is still alike and kicking. The knick is right by his foot. Please if anyone knows what I can do or if he will live. 😭😟

Please help!! One of my call duck eggs has been trying to hatch and I decided to assist an remove a little bit of the egg. Anyway it bled a little and I put it back in the incubator but I'm shaking and have been worrying about it.. will he die. I made a huge mistake.
did the bleeding stop?

Keep the bator closed or the humidity will drop too low and the rest will have problems hatching

You can expect 12 hours from the first shell crack to when they start emerging. How many hours since the egg started cracking?

Are the other eggs starting to crack?

The bleeding stopped. None of the others have even piped and it's hatch day today. My last batch didn't make it so I got nervus and helped it.

Now ive hatched tons of chicks and ducklings but never call ducklings. do call ducklings hatch the same @casportpony ?

normal ducklings when ready will break a hole in the egg shell and breath and rest while the yolk and veins are absorbed into the belly. its a very crucial stage and needs 60% humidity

When the ducklings ready it will Zip and start widening the hole

its normal for some to hatch 24 hours early and some 24 hours late

Calls often need help to hatch, especially if they are from show/breeder quality parents. The short necks and beaks make it hard for them.

Bleeding means it's not ready. Have you applied something like coconut oil to the exposed membrane? This will both keep the membrane moist and also allow you to see the veins, so you can tell how absorption is proceeding.

This egg looks like you've opened it up enough now that when the duckling is ready, it will just push its own way out. Coat the expose membrane in coconut oil or something like bacitracin so it stays moist.

I would also recommend reading this article that I wrote about assisted hatching:

I had a batch of call ducklings due a few days ago and I candeled a day before hatch day, movement in all of the eggs but on hatch day a misterius small bruise appeared on all six eggs. None piped, I waited till day 28 and then opened up the eggs. Fully formed duckies, I have no idea what went wrong or what the dark spot on the eggs was.
Spot could have been a vein they hit while piping...
