Problems upload photos directly from my computer

I am looking for help to identify sex of chickens and when I try to upload my photos I get an "error uploading images" but there is not more information. Are my images too big? I have tried various images and even created PDFs and neither work.
Any ideas?

Problem was IE....Switch to Chrome and it worked!
