Problems with crows

Since I only have a small flock, I just use containers to feed my chickens, but recently I have noticed that they have been going missing. I suspect that it may be a few of the crows that hang around (and sometimes eat the chicken food, which I'm not too happy about). Anyway, I Only have pullets, none of which have layer yet, but aren't too far off and I have heard stories about birds stealing the eggs, so I definitely don't want that! Does anyone have any advice about stopping the crows from stealing the containers and harassing my flock?

It sounds like your flock free ranges for at least part of the day - thus giving the crows access to harass the flock, take the feed, etc? Do you have/use an enclosed coop and/or run that your birds are kept in for any part the day, overnight, etc?

I have an enclosed coop which they sleep in at night and have full access to during the day. Currently, we only free range them, although I am thinking about making a run as I have had a few casualties with predators. I've heard that wild birds can carry diseases, so when the crows eat out of the containers, I replace the food to be on the safe side. Do you think a run would be the best idea?
