process of becoming an APA accredited poultry judge?

I've always been curious about how people become poultry judges.

What process do you have to go through? What training is involved?

Are there any qualifying requirements such as "must have achieved the rank of Master Breeder of XXX..." "must have shown at least 3 breeds in at least 2 APA sanctioned shows per year for the last 7 years..." et cetera? "Must have been a paid member of APA for at least a decade"? Or is it a little more open ended?

Poultry judges can be licensed by the American Poultry Association (APA) or the American Bantam Association (ABA).
Licensing requirements for both the ABA and APA are similar, and you can choose to be licensed by one or both organizations.
Get your a ABA and/or the APA membership. Membership is required to start the judge licensing process for either organization. ABA requires you to be a member for 5 years. Study and memorize the Standard. You will be tested on it and judging birds based on there standard. Become a judge's apprentice, the ABA requires a 2-year stewardship program to be completed. Take the licensing exams. The exams will involve both a written test and a practical test.
