I think they sent him by mistake.

He will be very tasty too though.

They sent two of those in my last batch of 50...they actually sent 52 CX and 2 DP red sex links of some kind. I guess that's in case some die in transit you have a spare or so.

They are sweet, cuddly, little snookum birdies!

.....that will eat you alive if you should happen to fall down in the brooder pen.

I'm sure they're very nice birds... with their legs placed unnaturally wide and their huge breast. Kind of like the photoshopped women with 'thigh gap' and fake boobs.

On the subject of Cornish crosses, I actually tried to Google Cornish x Silkie.. Imagine it: A large silkie, with lots of belly surface to warm eggs. And the Asian market would love giant black chicken meat. Here I thought it was an insane idea, but man... I'm smelling profit!

I'm always starving after I read this thread.. on more than one occasion I have been tempted to just go grab one of my hens and get her in the oven....

Slow growing little chicks... GROW! GROW! I haven't had home raised chicken since October!

Cornish + Silkie + NN... now THAT's a Frankenchicken.

They cleared out their feeder during the night, so they were a wee bit hungry this morning. They are 3 weeks and 2 days old.


And the little peanut that isn't growing much.

My pure buckeye is 1/3 the size of my marans x cornishX-- mine and yours look lost in a floating sea of white feathers . .

I think it has some issue, but it's possible it could be a red sex link - they sent 2 extras.

No more unnatural than a polish with its top knot or a Phoenix with his tail or whatever that "devil chicken" is (la flèche?) with its split comb or taking advantage of a silkie's super broody nature to raise chicks that are not her own.

They're all products of breeding for some characteristics. And a cornish x is bred to produce a yummy plate at my table. They're great birds if you raise them right.
