Hey, neat idea......... You could also buy that sticky backed felt from Walmart and cover the inside of the box where they stand and behind them. You could stick velcro to different objects and move them around the background...

As a commercial photographer I use ripstop nylon to filter light through also there are many sheer fabrics that you can use that will give you nice soft light instead of the wax paper. Your light box is very nice and simple for people to use. You might try keeping the front "wall" white instead of black and it will fill the front of the bird and the feet better.... Great Job !!!
 
There isn't any front wall, its completely open. The problem with having a front wall is that you can't handle the chick if you need to. I need to figure out a way to make it more white. Perhaps a different type bulb. It works great, but I would like the blue chick to look a little more blue.
 
That's the best box ever!!! I'm going to use that, much easier than setting up! Thanks for the idea!
