progress on new coop

the "inspectors" were two legged fuzzy butts. three of them. the little one did all the talking while the other two larger ones stood behind her.
she told me there were nine more in the house if i "had any problems".

yes that's my fireplace. it's working great as a brooder. the floor space of the coop is 8x6.

no. the coop is attached to the end of an 18' shed that has the last four feet as a shelter for the dogs. i wanted to match the coop to the shed but at the same time make it individual.
the shed buffers the coop from the northern prevailing winds.

lol, in our area, if you build a shed/coop/greenhouse and have it touching the ground with a base, you have to get a permit to build it or move it.

looks good there!

i'm kinda lucky. if i lived two miles to the east or west i would be dealing with "appearance commitees" and zoning boards. around here they tell you what colors you can use. if you gave me a home in a gated community i couldn't live there. i just barely missed a hostile takeover " annexation " two weeks ago and along my north property line work began on a 1500 home two golf course development. looks like the good old days of seclusion are coming to an end. guess i'll have to launch my clay pigeons in another direction.

looks fantastic! we used to live in a gated community, before we got bitten by the kid bug and, now, the chicken bug. no planning/zoning in our county here, so we could construct practically anything with no oversight. but that coop is fab--you're doing a great job!
