My lokkha hen pigeon ( this breed is more like chicken than pigeons ) has a prolapse. A vet suggested putting the prolapse inside and stitching. Anyone has their chicken/bird going through this procedure ? Does it work ?

Haven't seen this in a bird but when I had reptiles with prolapse I would boil water and add as much sugar as I could get to dissolve, Cool the water down to room temp and soak the prolapsed area in the sugar water. this would reduce the swelling and usually the prolapse would fix itself, very occasionally I would have to re insert some tissue after the swelling subsided. Seems like it would be worth trying with a bird as well.
