Prolapse in quail, again! Help PLEASE!

Use table sugar, on a clean finger, applied to the prolapse. It will help reduce the swelling. You can do it multiple times per day. Just a small bit that sticks to the prolapse as you are gently trying to reinsert the tissue.

I have good experience with olive oil. It helps to reduce the tention on the vent for laying and pooping. Just more slipery for eggs and poop.

I always use some drops olive oil while pushing back the prolapsed vent on my quails.

Thanks for the suggestions! She went to the vet today to get a Lupron shot to stop egg laying. I have no idea if it will work, and tomorrow’s a holiday so the next time I can see them is Friday. Here’s hoping she doesn’t lay again. Today’s egg caused a lot of bleeding.

Well nothing worked to stop her laying.... but one day I put the vent back inside her and she kept it in! So she’s still laying but behaving normally, seems happy. So glad I didn’t lose her since she’s truly my favorite bird ever.
