Prolapse or Egg bound?

Okay, so as far as I know she hasn't pooped, drank, or eaten all day (on her own). I have been dipping her beak in the water since this morning (I make sure that she gets at least 3 or 4 drinks every hour or so).

She is still alert, and she has walked around the brooder a bit, and she has laid down.

We just picked the Nutri-Drench up from Tractor Supply, so how do I give it to her directly? Or do I put it in her water? And how much do I give?

It's easiest to put the Nutri-drench in the water, about a quarter teaspoon to a quart of water.

Does she seem to be straining to pass an egg? Is she swollen under her vent and down into the abdomen? Any discharge from the vent?

Are her eyes open and bright? Is she moving around at all? Where is her tail when she's standing up? Is it low and flat or up and perky?

Okay, I'll do that :)

Well, she doesn't strain when she just stands or sits, but when I pick her up to give her some water she starts panting and straining. No discharge from the vent, her vent is surprisingly clean. Her abdomen is a little bit more squishy this evening, but right between her legs is a harder spot, feels like a bone even though around it is still very soft. This is just some kind of bone, right?

Yes, her eyes are still open and bright, and have been since all of this started. Yes, she walks around the brooder every now and then. When I pick her up her tail gets low and flat, but when she is standing up its aligned with her head.

All but the hard spot between the legs are encouraging signs that she's feeling okay and isn't experiencing stress. I would continue to give her a calcium supplement each day and keep an eye on her.

If she takes to a nest and spends a long period there, especially if she stands and strains without anything happening, give her another warm soak and time on a heating pad with moist heat.

Okay, thank you so much! :)

She just got through eating a raw egg yolk mixed with chicken feed. I dipped her beak in the water (with the Nutri-Drench added) 4 or 5 times, to make sure she got enough. I also dipped her beak in water without the nutri drench a couple of times after she ate (she did not like the nutri drench water ).

She tried to jump out of my lap into the brooder after sitting there for 5 minutes, she is back in the brooder under the heat lamp.

It's good that she is eating. Hiding the calcium in PB is a good idea.

Mine aren't too keen on Nutri-Drench water either, so I usually direct dose or drip it on some scrambled egg. You could also mix it with her egg/feed mixture and she is you can slip it in that way.

Just keep her hydrated, so if plain water is what she will take, that's fine.

Photos of her poop if you have them - I'm a bit concerned that she is not pooping(?)

Well, she doesn't like PB, so I am still trying to figure out how to make her eat it...

She has been drinking Nutri Drench water and plain water on her own since last night :yesss: And she also ate some layer feed, bird seed, and some raw egg yolk.

And she did poop last night! :ya It was normal sized, mostly white with some brown. It was kinda watery, but I think that was because she didn't hardly eat anything all day yesterday, but she drank all day yesterday.

I gave her another bath this morning, because she was straining a bit. It helped her on that and she sat in front of a heater (which she loved!) :) She is now back in the brooder under the lamp.
