Prolapse

Well my runner girl cookie went and had her vent stitched for the 2nd time yesterday she was doing great until a few weeks ago when she got egg bound and I had to help her pass the egg, omg it was massive 6oz it weighed n was double the size of a normal duck egg, if this stitch don't hold her vent in this time I think my hubby is going to get his wish and have duck for dinner I can't see her keep going through prolapse after prolapse

so I'm crossing fingers and toes she behaves n not makes massive bloody eggs

Poor girl Maybe someone on this forum has had similar experiences of repeat prolapse... hopefully they will be able to offer some advice.

Had to take her emergency vets was egg bound again stitch out way too soon n egg was going rotten, she home now on oral antibiotics twice a day , see how she goes but I'm not expecting her to recover n looks like ducky heaven looms

How sad. Unfortunately there is not a good prognosis for a repeat prolapse. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks theoldchick I know I will have to put her out of her misery this will be the first duck death I've 9 ducks had 10 but gave a male away n I was in bits jetting him go but I don't want her to keep on suffering
