Prolapsed butt! Help!!!

I wish I knew. When my hen went through it, hers wasn't very bad. She just blew an O-ring, for lack of better description, from laying overly large eggs, and I wouldn't have noticed except there was blood on her egg. It resolved itself after about a week. I only applied the prep h twice a day for 4 days and the only pushing it in I did was during the internal application. I withheld food on the 3rd day to interrupt her laying cycle, but that's all it took. She was lucky! I hope it will resolve soon. It takes a little time to repair, and for the muscles to pull everything back in place. Sounds like you're doing a great job so far.

Is she still bloody or bleeding, does she still have the black on the tissue as well?
A photo of what the prolapse currently looks like will be helpful.

If it won't stay in and she seems exhausted, keep the tissue moist with honey or prep H and let her rest.
Provide her with extra calcium and poultry vitamins. Crush a TUMS or give liquid calcium, this can help with contractions. A hen needs to be kept hydrated, so see that she is drinking.

Thank you everyone. I have been giving her water and I crushed some tums and gave her a bit of yogurt. This morning it came out yet again. I gave her a long warm bath with Epsom salt. She soaked for over an hour. I was able to get the majority of the black off with soaking. I put it back in and it has stayed in all day! I am going to keep her separated for awhile yet until I know she is healing. While giving her the bath this morning I also noticed her foot was swollen. She has bumble foot. I will be taking care of that in the morning but wanted her to rest and keep her stress level at a minimum for the time being. Thank you everyone for your help. It looks like she is on the mend.
