is that even possible? I have a 2 wk old chick thats had pasty butt and her vent is swollen. The pasty butt has all but disappeared in the last 2 days but her vent keeps getting more swollen.
Is it possible that she has a prolapsed vent? How do you deal with that if she does?

Yes, it's possible. I've read about it here on BYC several times and I don't remember much of it. I think you are supposed to put gloves on (rubber), lather your finger up with Vaseline, and glob it onto the chicken's vent and push the vent in.
