I discovered this hen (just over a year old) had a prolapsed vent this morning. Prior to this she’s had recurring poopy butt feathers I’ve been managing with no idea the cause. She lays consistently and eats/drinks/acts normal. Eggs are always clean. They don’t free range except 15 minutes a day while I clean and they are on 16% layer pellets and limited treats. So back to the vent...I cleaned it off and gently expressed some fecal matter I could see was stuck, then gently put the vent back in. She seems ok now. I have her crated in the garage with food and water. She’s pooped a few times and so far, so good. How do I know when she’s ok to go back to the coop? I know I need to reintegrate her. I read that when this happens they are prone to recurrent prolapse. Anyone have comments on this? My first experience with it so need whatever advice I can get! Pics are before and after.

She's pooping o.k., eating/drinking, alert and active? I would put her back now and monitor her throughout the day.

If she's constipated, then give her some coconut or mineral oil, see if that helps. See that she's drinking well.
