I understand the "couer" part as in Coeur d' Alene (pronounced CORE DA LANE)

But what about the CREVE part?

I think they are the "heart break" chickens?

I wish you would stop sugar coating things and tell us how you really feel....

My family is French-Canadian, so we say "'show-vell" just because it sounds fancy, and we are pretentious, but still pronounced coal as coal because it tough to say it with much flair.

I said millie fluers on the phone once and was politely and oh so subtlely corrected...

I have Favarolles and call them ravoli favarolis because it urks my daughter, who thinks I spend entirely too much time with my chickens to begin with, so she ignores me, which allows more time to spend on BYC.

I prefer to call Mille Fleurs, "Millies". It's cute, incorrect, and easier to say without thinking about it, LOL. But I have taken French so I know how to pronounce it. Plus whenever I say it the right way, people are like, "SAY WHAT!?".
