It was hilariously cute to me!
p.s. Please excuse my later refining edits to the post.

Awwww....you guys are seriously making me feel so much better. I was actually worried about having people over....feeling kinda embarassed about showing them off. Figured this was a great place to start.

Now I am glad I did.

Hey, we can all use extra "egg money" from little side lines, and there could just be a market for funky folksie chickens, ya' never know!

What a cute story, Speckled Hills!

I think your paintings look very classy, and I think your call to contrast with non-chicken curtains on that window was a good one--Prevents overload & presents nice balance.
Enjoy your creations! I am sure many visitors will!

Did you do them free hand....no stencil? I'm impressed if you did. You did a great job.

Tonight after i went out and put the girls to bed i came in and told my dh.... "I really like my chickens." and dh said....."Yah they are neat aren't they?"........He's got the bug too i think.

I know what you mean. I never understood why people would decorate with roosters and/or chickens. Nothing against them. I thought it was their thing, not mine. I just didn't get it. I can't tell you how many times I have thought about having a rooster or a hen sprinkled in with my kitchen decor, since I have bought these babies and been on this website.

Oh dear...that is just how it starts!!! I can easily remember thinking how I would NEVER have a chicken themed kitchen. Mainly because it is too common. My gingerbread men were very unusual...and it is so hard to find some that are not strictly for Christmas. Mine started with pics of my chickens I had taken. Kept thinking they were too pretty not to display. So one by one they got sprinkled in until the gingerbread men were obliterated. Maybe the chickens ate them???

Yes, just freehand. Though I am a huge fan of stencils!!!!!

Isn't it great when the hubbies love them too!!!

And he is right, they ARE neat!!!

Can I tell you.... I thought that when you said you couldn't paint, I was expecting something much worse. The paintings are really cute. I noticed that I have a lot of chickeny-type things creeping into my home decor lately. i haven't gone all teh way yet.......

Truth be told, I face an ongoing inner struggle and have succumbed to temptation on other occasions. My struggle with such urges is especially fierce when faced with their endearing morning "Glad to see you, Mom!"

I got the chicks out of the brooder tonight, and I put them on my husband and he started playing with them, and taking pictures of them.

He is warming up to them...It's a matter of time before he is sneaking treats
