Protocol for after a predator attack? (Coyotes)

I think this is true, and I don't really expect them to "forget" but more along the lines of diminishing returns. If they come back 10, 20, 100 times and get nothing, at some point they will have to demote my yard from easy pickins to regular territory status.

This incident is totally my fault and the coyotes are just doing what they do to survive. And it's up to me to make sure what we do next is better and smarter than the predators.
Sorry! If they've ever killed any of of your chickens they'll teach their young to hunt them too.

From my experiences the predators have routes and routines. They will keep coming back. I have several game cameras up on my property and some of the predators I have been able to identify by markings and injuries. They may not be back for a few times but will return. They know you have birds and will lurk looking for an opportunity and you probably won;t even know it until they get a bird/birds. I stopped free ranging years ago due to losses from predators, lessons learned the hard way. Now my birds all have nice large covered pens with electric wires around the coops and pens and concrete under all of the gates. Good luck...
This is a frequent visitor. I see it on camera often. Here they roam mostly at night but I have seen them during the day.

Coyotes are nearly impossible to trap. I've tried. I think once they test the electric wires they won't do it again and I think they teach their young that whatever is on the other side isn't worth getting zapped for.
