Well, after all of the worry about 2 hens on 1 nest and incorporating incubator chicks into clutch, here is 1 of the results. The other 7 are hiding under moms.

We are all very proud of our babies. Looks like their are 4 blues and 3 blacks.

Wow! When you have two broody hens on the same nest which one gets the chicks? Do the chicks imprint on both hens or just one?

That's a good question. I see all of the chicks going to both without a problem. The hens take turns going outside to stretch & I found Molly, the little Birchen bantam watching over them then. It's really cute to watch. It's like a hippy commune or something. Wouldn't it be great if people could behave like that?
