Did you happen to see how the tester tested them?It wasnt any issue for my birds to be PT tested here in LA
I mean did they test them right there on site or did they draw blood and test it somewhere else?

Impossible, actually. This is interesting, I was not aware of the shortage.
Will this make it hard to get NPIP tested/certified?
I had no idea any of this was going on, there's nothing, that I've seen, on the state website about the shortage. I've been reading about getting NPIP lately since a lot of out- of-staters have been asking me to ship hatching eggs.Impossible, actually.
I tried last year, I couldn't because of the lack of antigen.
(Below is for those whom it concerns)
I had 2 or 3 folks here consistently give me grief over not being NPIP when selling eggs and chicks. I tried, but the program has pretty much been suspended. Not my fault. Also, all testing and papers are waved in WI until further notice.
My professor gave me the go-ahead to acquire even expired product. We are making an exception because of the shortage, although we realize it is not the best practice.May I ask why you would even want expired?
Awesome! Are you going to post your results here?My professor gave me the go-ahead to acquire even expired product. We are making an exception because of the shortage, although we realize it is not the best practice.
That is not an entitely accurate statement. TVMDL is extending the expiration date of the last batch of antigen on a month to month basis based on their observations of their tests. I get a message from them every month.
This has TROLL written all over it. If the OP is really a Texas A&M grad student, which I highly doubt she is and is working on such a . project relocating out of state game birds into the state of Texas she would need to be working in close contact with the Texas Game Commission and TVMDL and have their preapproval and by default would know that antigen is not and has not been available for going on to two years.
This is just a solicitation to acquire a scarce resource.

We have many different facets of the project under separate students, but we are all working together to renew quail hunting and raise conservation dollars for quail species habitat restoration and protection! Let me know if you have any questions!
