Puffed up 4 week old chick

I am a new chicken mom with 27 7 week olds and 3 4 week olds. This pic is one of the 4 week olds. She is a Buff Orp and is NOT normally this puffed up. She is REALLY poofy, I'm not sure the picture shows just how much. But she is not moving about at all.

I have her in the house now so I can observe her but she has been like this since this morning. I have no clue what to do? Is this normal to maybe be full or something?

I sure wish someone could help me. I have only had chickens for 7 weeks now and I have no clue what to do. I felt her neck and it feels really hard. Course I don't normally feel their necks so I'm not sure if that is normal or not. But I do know her puffyness is NOT normal. Her sister looks normal. This one has no neck as of today.

Thanks, I do understand that a vet is the best bet always but I thought this was a forum where I can ask questions under the Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries and Cures section so people can give me ideas and thoughts and suggestions to help me NOT have to pay $100 for a $2.00 chick. Oh well, I'll figure it out. This section should be eliminated if all we will get is take it to the vet. Sorry, not mad, just frustrated and out of hundreds of people on this forum, I thought I'd have some ideas thrown at me besides just go to the vet.

Many people work all day and are just now getting to the point where they can login. Sometimes you need to just give everyone a bit of time. I have rarely seen someone say you have little choice but to go to a vet. Obviously that's great if it can be afforded! But I prefer to come here for help as well. I understand you are frustrated, but please be patient.

Oh AND... looking at the picture, have you had your babies in wood shavings this whole time? I've been seeing postings lately about young chicks with an impacted crop - and finding they've been eating the shavings. Feel her crop...is it hard? squishy? Look her over very well for lice/mites. What's her poop look like? Is she eating? drinking? What are you feeding her?

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but there are so many things that could be going on. Many times various problems all have the same type of symptoms. With just a complaint of "puffiness" and not being able to physically examine it, makes it even more difficult to offer a thought on something specific. It's difficult to come up with the definitive answers you're looking for with vague signs. Too many problems share the same signs and symptoms. My suggestion to see a vet is the best recommendation that I could give you, working with the information you shared.

I have one of my 1 month old chicks doing this same thing! I don't mean to be stupid, but where is the crop and can you direct me what to do if it is "wrong"? Also, she is eating and drinking, occasionally walking, and when I brought her in tonight she started chirping while wrappedi n the blanket When I took her out of the pen I thought she was dead, she was laying on her side with her feet out, and now she is very chipper. weird.

It would have been swollen, right? there was nothing there, but bony neck and chest. She died this morning. I think my daughter may have "loved" here a little too much so we will be taking more precautions in the future. thanks for everyones help.
