Pullet acting strange, is it an egg?

They will do the squat/squat run when coming into lay.
It's going on like crazy at the Clucker Cottage!
My pullets will be 17 weeks this weekend and a few have started laying (White Leghorn pullets).
None are ready for Rocky's advances though, I can tell you straight up!

I suppose now that I think about it it was kind of a bad analogy. Squat running or walking like a penguin probably describes it a lot better. I never found an egg or anything and she's acting completely normal now. Will they act like that even if there isn't an egg inside?
I would think that with 'penguin walking' the body would more vertical(tail down near ground, head up high)
and 'squat running' body would be more horizontal(tail and head level).
Could all be semantics...too bad you didnt' get video....she'll probably never so it again haha!

It was incredibly startling because she was doing it and moving so fast! Like she had been born with some defect she managed to live with all this while..

She finally laid an egg today, that makes her almost 20 weeks old. In what I've come to understand of leghorns as normal, she laid outside in the dirt..... it also has a faint bloom on it which makes me question whatever she might be mixed with. I got just one pullet left and she hasnt even gotten much color to her face/comb yet so we will be waiting a while for her but thats ok, shes my little goofball ♡
