Pullet Ate the Back of my Earring

Hello! I’m probably worrying for no reason, but this morning my RIR pullet ate the back of one of my earrings. My Buff Orpington pulled it out, and while I was frantically trying to get it from her (it was one of those fake diamond studs), the back of it went in the wrong direction and my other girl snatched it right up.

It’s probably no big deal, since chickens ingest grit and such and the earring back is pretty small with no real sharp edges or points (unlike the earring itself which I was gratefully able to retrieve from my Buff Orp.), but if I could just get some reassurance it would go a long way. Thanks!!!

Chickens will eat them strangest things. In the future, please don't wear jewelry around your chickens. They are attracted to shiny stuff. Be sure to provide grit to help with digesting. She should be fine.

Will do! I usually take off the jewelry for that purpose but alas! This time I forgot .
