Pullet is stumbling backwards! Help!

@Creede I had a turkey poult recently that had developed a series of walking and balancing issues and the regimen I followed was:
  • Poultry Nutri-Drench weight based dose once per day
  • High protein feed
  • Rooster Booster vitamins & electrolytes with lactobacillus to the water changed every other day even if it wasn't gone due to risk of pathogenic bacterial growth
I had my bird isolated so it didn't have it's food and water eaten/drank by other birds and after a week it began to take wobbly steps again and I went to every other day with the Nutri-Drench for another week. Now it's running around like nothing was ever the matter.

I recommend deworming her and checking the pullet and the coop for poultry mites as internal and external parasites can take a big toll on young chicks leaving them nutrient deprived, anaemic, weak and dizzy.
So far, I haven't noticed any mites. Been checking everyone's vent and area around about once a week. All of her poop has looked normal. I will look into deworming her. Thank you!

Love to hear that. Thank you for the information. She seems to be trending up after the last week or so. Not 100% though

Bad news update. Suddenly Trudy has taken a major set back. Just today she seems to be as bad as she was in the beginning stages. We were discussing internally yesterday about calling it good and stopping all medication, because she was doing so well!

We’ve been giving her vitamin b complex as well as the oral gel vitamin k daily. Same medicated 20% protein feed she’s always been on and fresh water.

I thought the vitamin supplements were fixing her up. She’s not looking good today though. What are your thoughts?

I am certainly no expert, but Once I had ducklings in the pond, out back with a niacin deficiency. This sounds like how it started. It progressed to completely splayed legs and inability to walk the first time. It may not help, but it couldn’t hurt to give them a little bit of niacin supplement. :) once I did this it took several weeks for them to get their ability to walk back, but it worked.

Okay, good. Thanks for the info. I will start looking into this asap. Is it my ignorance? I thought the extra need for niacin was a duck thing

I'm sorry she's not doing well.

What specific products are you giving? Can you post photos?

What is the gel vitamin K for?

If she's regressing, it may be worth giving the vitamins a break anyway. Hard to know. This may reset her a bit or she could get worse.

It can be hard to know why one is so behind.

Sure, I put the ingredients label here as well. I appreciate the support. She already got another dose. Will lay off the vitamins for a bit starting now.

Vitamin e not k. That’s my mistake on typing. Apologies, it’s been a long day.
