Pullet or Cockerel?

So many breeds! Blue is a popular color, so even if it isn't an accepted color I'd guess most breeds that come in more than one color come in blue. But your boy is very orpington shaped, at least to my eye.
Thanks for the info. If Orpington, he’s probably more likely to have a friendly docile demeanor? So far he’s pretty accepting of my reach. Cannot say that for all of the chickens

I believe this is week 8 for the chick. Still looks like a cockerel to me. I’m hoping to witness some practice doodle doos soon. My daughter loves the chickens so far.

I wasn't aware that TSC carried blue Plymouth Rocks. But I believe they may carry Sapphire Blues, which your bird would match. They have large single combs and wattles and they grow and color early on pullets, so it is possible that this is a pullet. I have found them to be personable and they are similar in build to an orpington.

Ooooo, this is interesting! That might explain why he/she is more friendly and accepting of my reach. He/she does seem to get in a lot of pecking battles. Could be personality I guess
