We are new to chickens and love it. We bought 3 chicks that are now 4 weeks old but we're concerned the one may be a cockerel. I believe Plymouth Blue Rocks are a larger breed than the Black Sex Link and the Isa Brown that we have, but she is much larger than the other two birds. If she's a he, we won't be able to keep him and we've already become very attached. My son chose her because she

was the lightest color in the bin of chicks at FFAH. Her feet are huge and have dark thick scales if that's any help. She loves to perch but can't fly up to the edge of the brooder like the other two birds. I think it's because she's heavier, not sure. She appears to be the Alfa of this little flock. Male or female?

Has a decent comb for 4 weeks, but at this age that doesnt mean too much. Around 8 -10 weeks we should be able to give a more definite answer. The comb will be larger and much more red if it's a male.
