I have 12 chickens I received at 3-4 weeks old. They are now 8-9 weeks old. One is much bigger than the others. But it's becoming mine and the kiddos BCF. (Best Chicken Friend) as my kids call them.
It's looking like a cockerel to me due to it being bigger and a larger comb than the others right now. But I can't keep more than one more rooster in my flock. Actually hoping it's a big hen!
Daddy was an EE (first generation from a full breed Americana) and momma was a Buff Orpington.
First pictures is of the one in question. Looking at the Buff Orpington with the most brown coloration. The others are really just too dang early to tell. But I'm leaning toward cockerel for this guy. Other pictures are just a reference if anyone might be able to tell on them as well. I am only able to keep 8 hens and 1 rooster out of the 12 I have. Hoping to get at least that. But we shall see.
