He/she will be six weeks old Friday

It is a cockerel.... ie a male bird under a year old.

Definitely a cockerel. The cockerels are lighter in color than the pullets.

That’s what I suspected but I wasn’t quite sure. I’m happy to have him. I hope he’s gonna be a good protector of my girls

My barred rock cockerel is already a little spitfire. If I reach down to grab him he raises his hackles and pecks at me lol. I’m hoping it means he will be a good protector for the ladies

I bought what were supposed to be all pullets from tractor supply. It’s okay though. Peep is a cutie pie

Mine is shaping up to be the same way. He still likes me to hold him though and he loves to perch on my shoulders
