Thanks so much! I knew a little about the saddle feathers but that photo was very helpful!Still looks like a pretty pullet to me.
If you are still concerned, look at the "saddle" feathers on your bird. That's the feathers right in front of the tail. If she was male, she would have the beginnings of saddle feathers (see photo below, at far right side.). This photo was taken from feathers from our production reds.

As you can see, the males saddle feathers are much different in shape.
