She isn't the mother, since she isn't barred. I'm going to assume his mother is a legbar, unless you have another rooster who is barred and has a crest that could be the father.

Do you know if the bird in question came from a blue, olive or light brown egg?

Must be from my legbar will he be worth using for breeding. Using him over BCM hens or my olive egger.

If you want to make olive or similar color layers, it is worth it. But for anything else, you are making more barnyard mixes.

Wouldn't barred Rock pullets/ hens be darker in color? Those two pullets are pale, not typical of the color pattern as I understand it.

Barred Rock females have two different types of barring genes, B/-, & B^sd/-
Both are single factors. B/- is more common then B^sd/- which stands for barred sex-linked Dilution.

Males have the usual Double Factor Genes: B/B. Males can also be single barred, B/b+.
