Pullet or rooster

Wouldn't barred Rock pullets/ hens be darker in color? Those two pullets are pale, not typical of the color pattern as I understand it.
More expert advice needed here!

Barred Rock females have two different types of barring genes, B/-, & B^sd/-
Both are single factors. B/- is more common then B^sd/- which stands for barred sex-linked Dilution.

Males have the usual Double Factor Genes: B/B. Males can also be single barred, B/b+.
