I have an 11 week old chicken that survived an attack by an unknown animal. She lost some feathers and the bottom of her left wing is hanging low. The rest seems to be okay. She does not have any bleed as we addressed it last night. She has been isolated from the other chickens and is eating and drinking well and is fairly active when I am around her.

I believe I need to bind the wing but would like a second opinion.

I believe she is a Rhode Island Red?

If she can use the wing, flap and stretch it out, nothing but rest, water, and good food is needed. Look carefully for any puncture wounds that need to be cleaned and sterilized.

Since she is eating and drinking the damage isn't serious. Watch for any possible infection.

I'm afraid am unable to tell the difference, new to experience. She is awfully quick to move away when I try and manipulate it and I am able to see some exposed skin as some of the feathers were torn out.

Is there any method you suggest for me to verify?

Did some tests, took her out and out her on my arm then shifted her weight. When she was unbalanced she flapped. Seems sore but not terrible. I moved feathers around and saw some evidence of the injury. Moreover I see she's missing that rear facing toe. Not sure how fast they heal so I couldn't tell if it was healed over already.
