I have a golden comet pullet that is about 14 weeks old and has been kept with two white leghorns of the same approximate age. They have been allowed to free range during the day. Today when I went out to let the pullets out of their coop, the comet did not come out. She was lethargic and easily allowed me to pick her up, whereas usually she would run away. I got a dog crate and set it up with bedding and food and brought this pullet inside the house. However, she seems to be getting worse as the day goes on. I have not seen her eat or drink and she has watery diarrhea so I am concerned about dehydration. I have a vet appointment at 5:30 today, but I wonder if there are any recommendations for thing to try before then. The hen is just lying in one place sleeping and barely responding to any stimulus. These pullets were all supposedly vaccinated so I have been feeding non-medicated chick starter.
