I saw this pullet Monday about 2 1/2 months old w/poopy butt and told them to keep her dry for flies. Next thing you know they hand her to me and say take her. Anyone have any ideas on how to unclog the vent? I have a meeting so I can't type more now. I have been soaking her each night.
You have to get it out or she will die. Gently squeeze around the vent. Warm water soak will help toloosen it. Search on here for enema. I hhave read about others doing it with a small syringe (no needle) but just repeat with small amounts of water. It may be uncomfortable for her but it has to come out.
I took her to a vet yesterday and he squeezed some of it out only because I asked him to do something and did not give her any anesthetic or anything but she still has a lot in but he squeezed until she was bleeding. Today she looks worse. When I get home I will search for the enema. He did not know one when I asked so I am consulting someone who does know and hopefully will get an answer soon. Be back this evening. I have been giving her a little coconut oil orally too.
