Pullets or cockerals?

Hey Guys,
This mama Hatched this chick on 8/21 making it 17 days old... Its starting to look like a cockerel to me but I am hoping I am wrong and "baby berniece" is indeed a pullet! Anyone have any insight... the eggs were supposed to be welsummer but the chick looks like its got a little muff (maybe an easter egger or amerucana?) This mama is a surrogate LOL. However, shes doing a great job! If anyone has any ideas if its a little lady or a little guy please let me know!

It's too young, and even if it was old enough to tell gender, I can't see its comb.

Seems like a lot of feathers+small comb. Could be pullet or late blooming cockerel

Can't tell what the chick is but its surrogate mother is a Blacktail White Japanese. They are next inline to Silki's as far as broodyness and make excellent protective mothers.
