Do you have EEs with modified pea combs? It would be hard to get a chick with a single comb from this mix it seems...

I could be wrong. I’ve never been great with telling combs on young birds.

They both have pea combs. my Wyandotte has a rose. My Orpington‘s and Asian black have straight combs though.

I’m so sorry. I’m mixing up the combs now. Yes, she has a rose comb. I need to start sleeping again so my brain will work right.

Only if you cross 2 EEs who both have one recessive gene for pea combs and 2 recessive genes for rose would you get 25% of the offspring to have single combs.

Huh? I'm sorry, do you mean if she has two EEs each split to single (which is recessive), she would end up with 25% with single combs?

Both rose combs and pea combs are dominant.
