Pumpkin for chickens. Cooked or raw?

Pumpkins, squash, overgrown cukes, zucchini.... other garden veggies. Raw, preferably. If you boil squash, be sure to save the cooking water and the "guts" for the birds. Yesterday, I gave them the cooking water and the skins from a pot of beets. They had a feeding frenzy. Several hours later, a novice would have been convinced that my birds all had a raging infection of coccidiosis.

Thank you so much for the information. I cut two of the mini pumpkins in half I have 7 pullets. Well , after one tried it there was a stampede. Thank you so much I'm writing down my list as we speak of what they can thank you
