I have one Amercuana bantam hen that had gold leaked in her neck feather even her parents were of blue, black and recessive white breedings. But her quality is there and so was her egg color. She is one lovely girl and got no mate for her. Pansi is her name.
If I was still working on blues, I would work with her with a blue roo or black roo to try to eliminate the gold leak on her neck feathers.
She is now two years going three years old. An old matron LOL!
And her grandma/aunt (one or two of those because they were all together), Ruzi was a solid black Amercuana bantam but she had leaky gold in her first year and the second year, it was gone. Not sure why it happens but it does. All of her offsprings had that trait too!
Pansi's mom is Blue Iris, a true blue as you can get and a lovely girl! Very refined too!
