There is no indication they are crossed. They are just not the best quality as MysteryChicken said. Though the barring could and should become better as they mature.

I see, guess all i can do is wait and see. There is no indication they are crossed. They are just not the best quality as MysteryChicken said. Though the barring could and should become better as they mature.
Low quality yes.guess that explains the cheaper price although knowing their mixed and probably much younger I wouldn't count what i spent as cheap. Picture they sent me was low quality with bad lighting, the black looked gray.
so are these just low quality barred rocks then? still a shame cause they promised good quality birds.
thankfully I got some hatching eggs from another breeder (will be awhile before they lay though). for the time being Ill just keep them as layers I guess. Still a shame I paid that much for them tho. oh well they are still pretty girls to me, just maybe not the best to use as parent stock.
You're welcome.Good to know.... Thanks for telling me!
really? they don't have hackles and saddle feathers, the other ones their age already developed theirs. Their feathers are all messed up though so they look a bit weird in the pictures.I don’t know what breed exactly they are, but they’re sure looking like cockerels to me. They have giant feet and looks like some male-specific feathering is coming in.
They’re likely younger than you were told, and since they’re in bad shape I wouldn’t be surprised to find they are late developing cockerels.really? they don't have hackles and saddle feathers, the other ones their age already developed theirs. could they have been stunted pullets? could they also be the actual age the seller said they were but just very stunted? if so I'm worried about them when they are able to lay, I know stunting can cause internal issues. They’re likely younger than you were told, and since they’re in bad shape I wouldn’t be surprised to find they are late developing cockerels.
How big are they? Their body shape looks wrong for a pullet. They're also very lanky and don't look full grown.could they have been stunted pullets? could they also be the actual age the seller said they were but just very stunted? if so I'm worried about them when they are able to lay, I know stunting can cause internal issues.
My experience with this seller has been horrible. I think I may have lost my money, I got 3 chickens, he said he forgot to send the last one when he already took my money. I would rather have my money back and not have the last chicken sent to me, as the first two are in horrible shape, but he won't even do a refund for the one that is not sent yet. It's been 4 days and I don't even have the chicken yet (or even pictures of the one he is sending over), he keeps saying oh sorry I am at work I will send the picture and chicken tomorrow).
The chickens were $30 each and I really would like my money back for at least the chicken that was never sent![]()
