Purple inside, mushy lungs

I just started processing some 14 week old American Breese chickens. First was ‘normal’ in appearance, nice and pink. Then next 2 we’re purple, flesh, bones, lungs, everything. The 3rd the lungs felt a bit mushy to me. Any thoughts?

They were all supposed to be the same breed. I bought them all together, same time…

Where did you get them from? I'm not sure about the lung texture, but the coloration really is reminding me of a cemani cross

I got them from Murray McMurray hatchery…

Nobody @ me.

I don't know. I thought there was only a few common breeds with black bones, and they are most certainly not Bresse, american or otherwise. Cemani, Black H'Mong from Vietnam, and Svartsomething from Sweden. Whose name I can only remember because Svarte aparrently means black.

I've not run across picture of chicken lungs like that, either.
