@Poultry_Love Sure, your total would be $66 (50 for the eggs and 16 for the shipping) due by Sunday evening, so the eggs can ship monday 4/16. Can you send through paypal (my address is [email protected], and please make sure your BYC name is included when you pay, as well as the shipping address you'd like to use) or would you prefer I sent an invoice?

@snowshoe Sure, your shipping date would be 4/23, and I would need to know how many. Also, if you require the NPIP paperwork, I will need to have your name, address, email, and phone number in advance and you'll need to check with your state to make sure they only require pullorum testing to have eggs shipped in.

**I realized just now while rereading the original post, the last females in the pen are purple blackshoulders, not purple blackshoulder pied, I mistyped that. Please confirm you have seen this edit and are ok with the order(s)
I would like to know if I could possible have shipping date of 4 / 30 or first part of May, my peafowl I have 7 breeding pen, usually do not start laying until end of month from past experience so should have my incubators up and running by then. Do you use artificial lighting to get your birds laying earlier? I am from Pennsylvania, I would like 5 eggs also. I know you have no control when they will take a break from laying. I can make payment through PayPal to the email stated, now if you like.
Thank you,

Thank you,

Sure, I can do 4/30 or after, whenever they are laying those weeks still. If you'd like to pay now, that's fine, your total will also be $66. I will pop you a PM with information.

I don't use artificial light, I live in Michigan where things stay cold and dark longer and I have literally no idea why my hens think FEBRUARY is the correct month to start laying, but here we are. They usually stop laying for the year in June, too (and that's when the boys drop train, so it's not just the girls that think It's Time). On the one hand, it's really obnoxious, but on the other hand, I set all the march eggs and my peachicks do great over winter because they have an early start for growing, so I can't really complain.

Like, not even joking, Orion is out there in 8 inches of snow yowling for the ladies and showing off in February. His entire brain is just a walnut with a beak.

My purple pen is currently laying, and as I have set all the eggs I want to for the year, I am listing batches of eggs to ship. We are NPIP certified, and our flock ID is 34-645. I accept payment through PayPal (I can email an invoice to be paid by credit card, too, I believe). Eggs are $10 each, and you may claim up to 6 (peafowl only lay every other day, so this should ensure you get the freshest eggs). Shipping is $16.

Before purchase please bear in mind that peafowl have a lifespan of 15-20 years, require a high-quality/high protein feed (expensive!!) and vitamins to support their beautiful (and rapid) feather growth, need at least 10x30' pens, and are extremely loud in the summer. If you have questions about hatching or care, please ask BEFORE purchase!

The pen is composed as follow: One male purple pied split blackshoulder (proven split, we hatched BS chicks from his pen last year), one female purple pied, one female purple pied blackshoulder, and two female purple pied blackshoulders.

Babies potentially include: White, purple pied, purple dark pied, purple pied blackshoulder, purple dark pied blackshoulder, purple blackshoulder split pied, purple pied split blackshoulder, purple dark pied split blackshoulder, and purple split blackshoulder and pied.

If you have questions, please feel free to ask. Here are some photos of the parents:

**Please remember that hatching eggs sales are subject to the whims of very beautiful but ultimately very silly birds, who may decide to stop laying at random, causing shipping to be delayed or possibly canceled toward the end of their laying season.

***Please note that I will ship your eggs the Monday following purchase. I can only guarantee that the eggs are from the birds above, and that they will leave my care intact and fertile. I cannot guarantee handling during shipping or your incubation method success rates.
I would love some eggs! Could you maybe suggest the best way to incubate? Helpful tips and such? I've hatched chickens, but I'm really wanting to expand into peafowl!

We hatch ours alongside chickens in our incubator. They are pretty much the same, just a longer incubation period. Incubate on their sides (not standing up), 99.5F, 40-45% humidity through incubation, 60% humidity for lockdown/hatch, 28-30 day incubation period with lockdown at day 25.

They do need a LOT more heat for a lot longer after hatching though, like 90-95F for the first week or two and down 5 degrees a week after that. They also, in my experience, do a lot better with a companion bird in their brooder, like a baby chicken/turkey, since peachicks are... kind of dumb and don't think to eat unless someone else is eating first. We always hatch a chicken or two alongside our peas for this reason.

@Courtney Pope Yes there are! Please note that I made a typo in the original post, two of the girls are purple blackshoulder, not purple blackshoulder pied. The first available slot for orders is next Monday, 4\23.
