They were cute.

IM IN i just do not feel safe with my cats All indoor an baby chicks in the house they have a friend parrot and sometimes i worry she can hurt them but 2 of my cats are 20 and 28 lbs
8 chicls would be a small snack.

Thank for explaining Tammy
I understand that. I have to protect my chickens and barnyard cats from my dogs. We have yard time share here.

I have to put my incubator in my office and keep the door shut when incubator. We have four dogs that live indoors and go outside during their yard share time and one big honking cat that lives indoors. I can have that cat with the dogs cause, it is so big the dogs try to mess with him but, always retreat. LOL!!!! The chickies would be a snack for any of our dogs or our indoor cat. So I am mother hen always making sure everyone is safe from each other.

Bradleyjpyle-- You know our inside cat is about 24 pounds and he is just a simple old Tabby. He really isn't all that fat either just a BIG boy cat.

One more thing to add. Swedish Flower that is so cool. I can't wait to see your pics. Do you have pics of the parent stock?

Quote: I don't have pics of the parents, they're all shipped eggs. I have a few pics of the ones in the brooder - I've only got 4 right now, they're about 5 & 6 weeks old. Actually I only have 3 SFH, 1 is a Golden Campine. He's our honorary SFH tho. The place I bought his eggs from sent me the wrong eggs, I was supposed to get SFH. He's the only egg that hatched out of his batch, when he was about 18 hours old we got evacuated from our house due to wildfires. I loaded Bear up and evacuated him with us. He's about the sweetest thing there is. We wound up with 75% of our land burnt, only the little corner of our land that our house & chicken coop are on were saved.

Here's some pics

This is bear a couple days old with his only friends.

These are my 3 SFH that hatched a week after Bear. He finally got some friends
this is 2 Face

This is BB - Crested SFH

This is Runt - also crested (you can't tell here) Runt had a rough start. But is now a spunky 5 week old BEAUTIFUL chick!

Here's Bear about - 3 weeks old - notice comb starting to come in

2 face about 2 weeks old

BB - 2 weeks old

No pic of Runt at this age, s/he was still inside getting stronger.

Here are the most recent pics of them

Sorry bout all the pics. I love my crazy birds.

So Fun!!!!!!! How did you figure out Bear was a Golden Campine. Don't the Swedish Flower Hens all look different. If it was me I would probably still be thinking he is a SFH. LOL!!! You can definitely tell in his more recent pics he is a Golden Campine though. I will look at and enjoy any pics you want to post.

So sorry about the fire thank goodness your house and coop were saved. How much land do you have? What state are you in? We just bought 52 acres, I hope we don't have problems with brush fires. Goodness, how do they get started in the middle of the woods? That is scary stuff. I am glad everyone is okay though.
