I hope people get more involved cause, I really like having other people to talk about my hatch with. I don't have a whole lot to say yet because, I am still at the baking and flipping stage. I really like talking to people about it though especially when the pips and zips start.

Yea, more pics.

He was sooooo cute. I guess that is a really good way to look at the land thing. We are gonna start building on the land we bought in about a year. We just closed on the land. So how big of a headache is it to build a house? I know having the end product will be great, I am just worried about how much stress it is gonna be. I know my hubby and I are gonna disagree on everything from cabinet type to light fixtures etc. Are you married does building take a toll on the marriage? To bad we couldn't find the land with the house already built. We couldn't find any nice houses with as much land as we wanted and if we did it probably would have been out of our budget. Sorry for the rambling, its kind of neat that you just went through what we are about to go though.

We haven't started building yet. Hopefully will start in the spring or next fall. This trailer we're living in is a POS. It's not really that bad, but since we knew it was only temporary, we didn't worry much with what we got, just that we could afford it and move right in. it's about 1200 sq ft and the house we moved out of was a little over 2000 sq ft, so needless to say we have stuff EVERYWHERE!!!! There's no spare closets and my kitchen cabinets (the openings) aren't even big enough for me to get my large pots & pans in, so they're on top of the cabinets.

I can't wait to start building! We've already got our house plans. I think my hubby and I will be alright. We've been married almost 10 years. We don't agree on everything, but we do agree on lots of stuff. We've already found some pics of kitchen styles we like. That's the main one that we have to agree on, cause It's so permanent. We don't want any carpet in the house. I think we're doing stained concrete in the living, kitchen, & dining and hard wood in the bedrooms. My FIL used to actually build houses, so we're gonna be the builders and hire everything done. No middle man. He's gonna help us.

On another note
Here are my Ameracauna's in question. Was told they're EE. I'm not sure really what the difference is in them.

I'm pretty chatty, just been a crazy week so far. The State Fair started on Thurs and we HAD to go...... Twice! I love the fair! I finally got my lost shipment of eggs in. They're destroyed!

They kept them at the PO until the box dried out from all the oozing egg. They kept it for 5 days!! So by the time I got it, it was rotten, smelled terrible and had bugs in it! Thank YOU Post Office!

At least I have 9 growing in the bator!

I candled last night and three more were infertile. None were quitters. I have 16 EEs, 14 Silkies and 4 Sizzles growing and thriving! Movement and veining evident in every single one :D

More than half of these were set on September 6th and the rest were set on September 10th & 11th. I have an extra incubator for lockdown.

so 34 eggs left. If I get 25 I will be thrilled!

Awwwe, so ya'll haven't built yet either. I am nervous about it, it feels like such a big undertaking. My husband and I have been married for 13 years, I am sure we will be okay too. I guess if when the time comes it feels like to big a task we can always sale the land for a profit when the market turns around. That is why I was okay with getting it if we decide not to go through with it, it will be an investment.

We are currently trying to find the right floor plan. I am super picky because, I know if we do this it is going to be our last home. The one we grow old in.

Your girls are EEs but, very pretty.

Ameraucana is a pure breed and EEs are Ameraucana crosses. Ameraucanas have to have certain coloring and only those colors are excepted. I have one Ameraucana roo and I mate him with whatever I want and get EEs. I think its fun that way. If you have Ameraucanas everyone looks the same and it isn't as much fun. I like seeing the different colors and patterns you get with the EEs. Where did you get your girls?

Yea, that sounds good. You might just get your 25.

I am trying to refrain from candling much because, my eggs are so dark. I can't see veins even if they are there. I don't want to accidentally throw away a good one cause, I can't see well. So I guess as long as the black blob continues to get bigger I am gonna consider them good. I hope I don't end up with rotten ones blowing up on me. Marans are hard to hatch cause, of the dark shells.

I could see into mine fairly well. I find my iphone flash light is awesome for candling. I do have some candling pics. Anyone care to see?
