Put eggs in the bator 9-9-12 anyone want to hatch along????? :0)

Getting really nervous. Still nothing. No pips, no rolling eggs, nothing!

how many days now? If it is 22 or 23 and noone has pipped yet. I would raise the humidity, then quickly reach in,grab one and pull it out, keeping humidity inside bator, hold it with a warm, damp towel and lightly tap it, peep at it or candle it and look for a little face in the air cell...As long no dry air gets into the inside of the eggs , shouldnt affect sticking... If chick has pipped inside air cell but not outer shell..depending on activity you hear or see, I would either poke a very , very tiny hole in the fat end... assuming the chick is facing the right way, to allow air to get to chick, this is if you think it has broken the inner air sac.. If peeping or tapping going on, put it back and wait a few more hours...it is cool when they tap back at you

I set them at 11pm on 9/12. So I think today is actually considered day 21. I'm usually up around midnight, so I might candle them tonight if nothing has happened.

Such cute fluffy butts!!

I can hear chirping coming from the eggs

If no pips tonight (I'm usually up till about midnight or later, I might poke a little hole in the top of the air cell just so they don't suffocate.) I run to the bator tho every time i hear a chirp.

So, I have at least 1 that has internally pipped. I can hear lots of chirping. How much air do they have in the air cell? How long would it last my little chick? What if he runs out of air before he pips? When would you poke a hole in the top for air?

I THINK I'M GOING CRAZY!!!

i would leave them until tomorrow, give it at least 3-4 hpurs, I have had it take 12 hours so just leave the bator closed and let the humidity stay high, if you are at day 21 i would wait, sometimes if the temp was low while they were growing they are a little behind schedule. avoid rushing in too fast to help..They really need to try to do it themselves..

I have 1 pip, my noisy one!

If that's the only one that hatches then I'll go buy him/her a friend from atwoods (i'd like another americauna/ee anyways). Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a fluffy butt.

I've been reading and apparently shipped Swedish flower hens are as fragile as silkies (I've never dealt with silkies, but i hear they're hard to hatch shipped). So I'm hoping I get something out of this batch.

My silkies hatch well, but some of them have trouble keeping up with larger breeds of chicks.. At least in my experience.

On last count we have 22 chicks. Not too far off from my hope at 25.

Only 3 did not hatch, though 6 died :(
