Put her down? I’m losing hope

We had a write up in our local paper maybe 3 months ago about the AI but I haven’t heard of it being anywhere around here. I donot think she has AI since she has a good appetite I think she’d be dead by now. Plus I don’t think it’s as bad as they are letting on. They are using that faulty PCR test that they were testing everyone for Covid and most of us know it wasn’t any good.

Her symptoms sound like niacin issues and the feed you were feeding was not giving her any nutrients that ducks need to survive
This was why I never mentioned the flu
My suggestion is either have her put down if you can not give her the care she needs so she can stop suffering or switch how you were feeding her and take advice we have all given you
Duck feed or chicken feed grower non medicated
Nutritional yeast 1 tbs to I cup food
Get the B complex and give 1 ml over treats such as scrambled eggs , peas ect or directly through syringe if you can do it carefully not to aspirate her
Also put Nutridrench in the water but also have a second water without it
I myself feel defeated and frustrated that a week has gone by since these things were suggested and in that week and could have been getting better instead she is getting worse
I understand you have a good heart as you found her upside down and saved her and did all you could with what you knew at the time
But since then we have all tried to guide you and for whatever reason we have been ignored
I have 16 ducks and a huge heart for them so when I see or hear one is hurting my first instinct is to help
Please take our advice and switch her to proper feed and get her the proper B complex to correct her niacin issue
Once she is better you can take her back to the pond and she could live a long happy life and you would know you made that happen !

I'm just going to pop in here with a quick, probably controversial, opinion.
And that is that you have done a lot for this duck. Spent time, money, and resources and, while you've seen improvement, definitely not where she needs to be. It's OK if it's simply too much and you need to let her go and put her down. You have done a lot more than a lot of people would. ❤️

I am sorry about the duck. I think by the sound of it, that she may have a fighting chance. Do you have a TSC or a pet store that may carry niacin? I would put the stuff you have in her water, and put electrolytes, vitamin, and probiotics in her water. You may need to do it separately. If you have Roost Boost (TSC carries it) then put it in her water. I do not think that a little bit of an over dose of electrolytes, vitamin, probiotics, and protein would hurt. Have you gotten her water fowl food yet? Or duck food. Don't give her bread. A lot of people give ducks bread- Don't, it is bad for them. You have to buy her proper duck food. Two days for her to get better is not enough. I hope that she pulls through. If you haven't already, Get Her Proper Food, Vitamins, Electrolytes, Probiotics, and Niacin. The stuff that you are using most definitely should work. Does she have any injuries that may be causing her pain?
my duck passed away this morning. I could tell she was not good so I bundled her up and took her to the pond and sat with her on the bench where I met her until she was gone.

i Never ignored the advice. I got her duck pellets the vitamin b complex and the brewers yeast on top of the poultry nutri-drench I had been giving her. regardless she passed away this morning. So it was all for nothing. Have a nice day.
