Put her down? I’m losing hope

my duck passed away this morning. I could tell she was not good so I bundled her up and took her to the pond and sat with her on the bench where I met her until she was gone.

I'm sorry she didn't make it. She died at the pond, every duck's happy place.

I think you were wrong when you said it was all for nothing. The kindness you showed her, the comfort you gave her, wasn't for nothing, I have tried my hardest and lost critters before, but I always tried my best not to let them pass out of this world alone.

You took her to a place where she could pass peacefully, in a wild world, not a sterile hospital.

She had you -- far, far from nothing. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm very sorry. You did everything possible, and then some, for a poor frightened wild duck. All this without being asked, and out of the goodness of your heart. If you believe in Karma, you just racked up a whole ton of it.

I am sorry about the duck. She died at her happy places with the person that tried to keep her going for as long as possible. I am very sorry about her. Don't blame yourself. You did everything you could. In the end, she passed peacefully and quietly in the wild where she lived it. RIP duck!!
