Put her down? I’m losing hope

I am sorry about the duck. I think by the sound of it, that she may have a fighting chance. Do you have a TSC or a pet store that may carry niacin? I would put the stuff you have in her water, and put electrolytes, vitamin, and probiotics in her water. You may need to do it separately. If you have Roost Boost (TSC carries it) then put it in her water. I do not think that a little bit of an over dose of electrolytes, vitamin, probiotics, and protein would hurt. Have you gotten her water fowl food yet? Or duck food. Don't give her bread. A lot of people give ducks bread- Don't, it is bad for them. You have to buy her proper duck food. Two days for her to get better is not enough. I hope that she pulls through. If you haven't already, Get Her Proper Food, Vitamins, Electrolytes, Probiotics, and Niacin. The stuff that you are using most definitely should work. Does she have any injuries that may be causing her pain?

You've taken on a lot. Treating a wild bird is tricky, to say the least. They may have different requirements than domestic poultry.

The suggestions to turn the duck over to a wildlife rescue agency is a good one, but may not be practical for you. You seem to have invested a lot of time and money in trying to help this bird. It would be a shame not to take things to completion if you can.

If the duck has shown improvement with treatment given so far, then that's an encouraging sign that a little more effort may pay off.

When we treat one of our sick domestic birds, we usually need to follow up with special feedings to help the bird recover strength and weight after the long illness. It's been suggested to feed a supplement containing niacin. A brewer's yeast would be a good additive to the feed you give her. The other B-vitamins in brewer's yeast can also help her recover strength in her legs. Also, she might benefit from a little brown sugar in her drinking water for a day to boost her glucose, which can help the strength issue.

As long as you see steady progress, there's hope. It's when you see no progress or the condion is worsening that you would be wise to consider ending the suffering.

Thank you. Your right. Her balance is so off it's heart breaking. Other that than she seems good. I have not heard

Thank you so much for the sound advice. But I have to ask, during my time here asking questions about my duck on this forum, how come nobody once mentioned the avian duck flu that is going around and killing tons of birds ? Why did I not hear how about it was before now? I drove all over yesterday, I mean all day trying to find someone who will rehab her and there's not a snowballs chance. She's wild and the sanctuaries have to be licensed specifically for wild animals, the county's protocol on that is strict. She does not have the flu but the fear around its spread guaranties her dooIm. Im afraid it's gonna all be for nothing.
So now, Ive taken an even more aggressive approach with her food and meds in my last desperate attempt to save her life. I even took her back to her pond to see the other ducks to boost her morale and I set her in the water for just a second and when I did, all the other ducks got out of the pond went up on the bank and walked over to the other pond. Broke my heart. It's sad to watch. I wish my dad were still around. He would handle this for me. It's hard either way. Thank you for ur help. I'll let u know what happens when something changes.

Please don’t take her some place and leave her. If your done trying to help her then take her to be put down so she at least won’t be suffering. I don’t think you’d do that since your trying so hard to help her. Can she walk at all? Are you giving her the liquid BComplex?

Oh, I'm sorry. I did not realise that no one mentioned that. Is she doing a little bit better? The flu is not bad where I am, so I kinda forgot about it. My mistake. I'm sorry.
