put my cat down today

I'm so sorry Rosy. It's never easy to lose a member of your family. We bury our pets in scenic places on our property and usually place a camellia bush or something pretty to grow as a headstone/marker. This way they are always here with us and remembered. Each time I pass by, I tell them "hi".

i am so sorry for your loss, so hard i too plant a tree or flowers around the burial to always remember and they seem to grow better than my other plants. i know how hard it is to lose a loved pet, i have been there.

Very sorry.

May I Go?
May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain filled days
and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be.
So can I take that step beyond
and set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first,
I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and living light.
I want to go
I really do.
It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day.
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and afraid,
because I see your tears
I'll not be far,
I promise that, and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go

Thank you so for loving me.
You know I love you too,
that's why it's hard to say goodbye
and end this life with you.
So hold me now just one more time
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you'll let me go today

I had to put down my cat Puff-n-Stuff a couple of years ago. The kids called her Pooky. It was so sad. I knew when we buried her that we'd be moving in a couple of years, so we planted Asiatic Lillies over her grave. We called them Puff's Plants, and took the corms with us to the new house. Now we still think of Puff every time those flowers bloom. And they bloom in July, the month she died.

You gave your cat a good life and lots of love, Rosyposy. That's all any of us can ask for in this world. It hurts to let them go, but we're better off for all that we let in (to paraphrase an Indigo Girls song).

Sorry about your cat Rosy. It's always hard when you have to make that decision.

Wolfpacker - that was beautiful, I teared up.
