Hey I’m nervous about putting my 8 week old on the ground.... is it time? It’s only one girl. I’m nervous because I have other older birds and I’m scared what might be introduced to them. I have one 4 week old that I’m treating for a weak neck. Probably neurological but not sure.... and if she has it my 8 week old has it. Should I put her on the ground?

I have 8 week olds on the ground in a pen that my first Flock were in last month. They are my 3rd batch of chicks. My second Flock is in their own pen.

I've read that chicks should have access to soil before two weeks old to get immunity.

I haven't given my Chicks sod or put them outside before 5 weeks, but I do feed Chicks a Medicated feed solely for at least 10 weeks to help prevent Coccidiosis. 20200621_143443_resized.jpg . GC

Can I put her on Corid? While she is on the ground? I haven’t had a history with coccidiosis
I don't know. I've never experienced Coccidiosis in my Flocks.
I like to prevent, rather than treat.
If you've never experienced Coccidiosis, I would keep a close eye on her and treat immediately if you notice bloody droppings or sluggish behavior. GC
