Putting Bletch in Chickens water?

I wouldn't do it, personally.

If you wouldn't drink it yourself, or give it to children, don't give it to your birds.

I've heard that apple cider vinegar is good. Why not try that?

Most people do drink it everyday. If you drink city or county water you drink chlorine.

I don't think anybody is suggesting that it must be used, but that it can be used safely. ACV for some with a large flock might be expensive. I use ACV in drinking buckets. But I also use chlorine in the ducks swimming water, when in doubt test the water.

Bleach does nothing more than kill bacteria in the water. It then turns into water itself. It's perfectly safe and a little won't hurt anyone.

A small amount of bleach in their drinking water will not hurt them. It does kill bacteria and algae. In Michigan it is required that all new wells be chlorinated (with bleach) before the health department will approve the well water to be used for human consumption. Of course the well is flowed to remove the bleach but chlorinated water will not hurt you. It will kill the healthful bacteria that thrive in a chickens stomachs. Giving them a probiotic will improve the overall health of your flock. An interesting observation- Several times my son and I have gone hunting in the artic. We drank water untreated from the lakes. We never got sick while our hunting partners, who drink chlorinated water, did. The only thing we could attribute that to was our drinking well water does not kill the healthful bacteria that exist in our systems.

I use a spray bottle with pure bleach to spray down my waterers every few days, but I rince them before refilling.I use ACV,1 tablespoon per 1 gallon of water for them to drink. Will
